Bryan Williamson, CEO MEDEX Practice Solutions

Bryan founded Medex in 1999 and later sold the Revenue Cycle Management portion of his company to California Healthcare Medical Billing (CHMB) in 2010.  At that time, Medex employed 100 professional billers, coders and consultants and was actively involved in providing full service billing for 250 physicians totaling over $80 million in annual pro-fee billing revenue.

Prior to forming Medex, Bryan was an Administrator at St. Joseph’s Medical Resources, Inc. (SJMR) in Stockton CA.  SJRM was a regional management services organization. Bryan led the development and oversight of new practice management business for the company totaling 56 new medical practices with revenues of $10 million.  

As Director of Physician Services for the St. Joseph’s Regional Health System and its five hospitals, Bryan managed the recruitment and practice start-up process for 28 new physicians to San Joaquin, Calaveras, and Merced Counties.  Bryan played a key role in organizing and implementing the successful integration process for St. Joseph’s Medical Associates, Inc. a 22- member primary care group in Stockton/Manteca CA, the formation of Lodi Primary Care Associates, a 30- member primary care physician group in Lodi CA and Mercy Medical Associates, a 12- member primary care group in Merced CA.   

As a Sr. Consultant with The Camden Group in Los Angeles, Bryan negotiated the acquisition and merger of many practices and was instrumental in shifting the loyalty of multiple practices to client hospitals.  Other experience included the development of multiple timeshare offices and the set-up of over 45 turnkey medical offices for new physicians.  Bryan facilitated the development of five primary care centers including lab, x-ray and other ancillary services and directed the development of hospital sponsored MSOs in Southern California to provide services to physicians and medical groups.

Kirk Williamson, President, AVEX Practice Solutions

Kirk has been working alongside MEDEX Practice Solutions with his own company AVEX since January 2018.

AVEX, specializes in staffing management at Stanislaus County where the company recruits and manages the medical staff for various urgent care clinics in the Central Valley. This involves finding qualified doctors and mid-level practitioners to work as independent contractors; overseeing the contracting and credentialing process for each provider, scheduling the daily shifts, developing workflow procedures to improve output, negotiating pay rate for each provider, and completing the monthly payroll process.

In addition, Kirk brings his years of experience to our Practice Solutions side of the business where he has a broad portfolio of responsibilities related to physician practice development and business start-up. He has particular skills around establishing corporate entity, submitting necessary tax, corporate, and city forms, licensing and permitting, taking care of facility and IT needs (furniture, equipment, office supplies, phones, computers, printers, security cameras, etc.), recruiting/hiring/training office personnel, HIPAA & OSHA compliance implementation and training, development and implementation of practice policies and procedures, marketing strategy and implementation, arranging vendor meetings (EMR, specialty medical equipment, web design, signage), etc.

Other responsibilities: Practice Valuations and Audits: Performing fair market analysis reports for various medical practices. Involves visiting practice to log a detailed inventory of assets and working closely with the physician and purchasing hospital to assign a fair value for each facet of the practice.
